Alessandro Tarello was born in Ivrea (Torino, Italia) in 1977. After his high school diploma in humanities, he received in 2002 a M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Torino under the supervision of Proff. Marco Ajmone Marsan and Emilio Leonardi, and in 2006 a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Communication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino and Scuola Interpolitecnica, under the supervision of Prof. Emilio Leonardi. In 2004 and 2005 Alessandro was with the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge MA, USA), under the supervision of prof. Eytan Modiano. During Summer 2005 he also visited the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Pasadena CA, USA), where he worked on scheduling algorithms over Mars proximity links. He received the Best Student Paper Award at the 3rd International Symposium on Modeling and Optimization in Mobile, Ad Hoc and Wireless Networks (WiOPT'05). Currently Alessandro holds a quantitative and risk analyst position with an asset management firm based in London.
