CURRICULUM

Michele Garetto was born in Torino, Italy, on 15/05/1975. He graduated from the Politecnico di Torino with summa cum laude degree in Telecommunications Engineering in May 2000.

Between August and December 2000, he was at CSELT (Italian Public Telephone Research Company), working in the area of Network Management.

From January 2001 to January 2004, he has been with the Dipartimento di Elettronica of Politecnico di Torino as a PhD student.

From October 2001 until June 2002, he was with the Computer Science Department at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, visiting the Advanced Computer Networking Research Group led by Professors Don Towsley and Jim Kurose.

In January 2004 he obtained the Ph.D. degree at Politecnico di Torino, with a dissertation entitled "Analytical Models of IP Networks with TCP Traffic".

Between August to January 2005 he held a Post-Doc position at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of Rice University, Houston, working in the networks group of Prof. E.W. Knightly.

Since September 2005 he has been a Post-Doc in the Telecummunications Group of Politecnico di Torino as a Lagrange Fellow supported by the Lagrange Project
