CURRICULUM

Jorge M. Finochietto was born in Buenos Aires in 1978. He received his Eng. degree from Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata (Argentina) in 2000, and Ph.D. degree from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) in 2005.

He worked from 2000 to early 2002 at Techtel Telecomunicaciones, a south american network operator, in the areas of routing performance and ATM networks. In 2002 he was awarded an ALPIP grant and joined Dipartimento di Elettronica of Politecnico di Torino as a PhD student.

He has been involved in the European IST DAVID DAVID project which investigated the potential of optical packet switching in metropolitan and backbone networks. He has also participated in the Italian reserach projects dubbed ADONIS and EURO on optical networks and switching architectures. Currently, he takes part in the European Network of Excellence e-Photon/ONe on optical networks, which involves almost 40 European research institutions, operators and manufacturers; and in the Italian project WONDER which aims at building an optical network demonstrator for the metropolitan area.

He is an IEEE Member of the Communications Society.
