CURRICULUM

Carla-Fabiana Chiasserini received the Laurea Degree (1996) from the University of Florence and the Ph.D. (2000) in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications from the Politecnico di Torino.

Since 2000, she has been with the department of Electrical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, where she is currently an Associate Professor.

Before her current appointment, she worked at the Politecnico di Torino under a Cselt (now TELECOM ITALIA) grant on wireless ATM networks (1996) and with a short-term position as an Assistant Professor (2000-2002).

She has done research work at the Center for Wireless Communications and at the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology, University of California at San Diego (1998-2003).

Her teaching duties at Politecnico di Torino include graduate-level courses on wireless communications and advanced topics on wireless networks.

She has participated in several National and European projects on wireless network systems, such as the RAMON, VICOM, PATTERN, NEWCOM, NEWCOM++ projects, and has been one of the principal investigators for the 2003-2004 contract between ALCATEL and Politecnico di Torino, as well as for the contract between INLAB and Politecnico di Torino.

Her research interests are in the field of wireless communications; she has published more than 160 papers in refereed journals and in leading international conferences, and holds three patents. She has been involved in organizing several international conferences, among which IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE/ACM MobiCom, and ACM MobiHoc. She was TPC chair of ACM MobiHoc 2009, several editions of ACM/IEEE MSWiM and IFIP WONS 2006. Currently she serves as an editor for three international journals in the area of wireless networks, AD HOC NETWORKS Journal (Elsevier), Computer Communications (Elsevier) and IEEE Communications Letters.

She is a member of IEEE. Her h-index is 28.
